- One technique in music that is used frequently in radio is when two popular songs are pt either side of a new song that hasn't been heard as much. This makes sure that people hear the new song and that they keep listening throughout, this is called 'hammocking'. Another technique is when two songs are played back to back with no interuption, this is called a 'segue'.
